Drinking Water Crisis: Need of the Hour

Water one of the essential element of nature, being the necessity of life for existence is thought to be found around 400 billion years ago with evolution of the living planet, The Earth. Every living body is thought to be formed with five elements and one of the elements is water. Earth appeared to be a livable planet after the evolution of other universe identities as a result of the Big Bang phenomenon. The Big Bang phenomenon was result of fusion and fission and resulted into formation of planets, stars, asteroids, milky way etc. After the rise of planets, earth comes to have water on its surface and due to tectonic activities, the landscape shapes appeared as mountains, plateau, deserts, gorge, rivers, lakes and plains. There are total 7 continents on earth named as Asia, Australia, Europe, South America, North America, Africa and Antarctica. Further these continents have different amount of water bodies like oceans, rivers, lakes and the availability of water is not uniform. The water exists is various forms like rain water, oceans, rivers, glaciers, ground water. It is very scaring that even the water is present in so much abundance, the drinking water is merely 0.03 percent of the total water present. The earth has been divided among continents then in countries, states, cities and villages. The availability of the water is so much drastic that in one area the water is available for drinking and on the other hand, people are wandering for drinking water also. What are the major causes of this situation? In the hilly areas seems to have a greater amount of water in the view of waterfalls, free water floes etc but the same is at limited place and the water has to be brought from long distances. In Desert area where the amount of rain is merely 10-20 percent of the total rain of the whole area is called deserts and People here suffer much more even for drinking water and they have to walk by foot kilometers in search of water. In Plains the conditions is little bit better because digging of wells, establishment of tube wells, canals can help to reach out water. There are several countries across the globe that face scarcity of water throughout the year like Sudan, Nigeria, Chad, Bulgaria and the area touching the Sahara Deserts, area of Arabian countries, areas near glaciers, Antarctica etc. When we talk about India, the situation in India is also furious.  The area in Kashmir valley, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra etc. have to suffer for drinking water. The unhygienic water and polluted water harms the biological system and responsible for diseases like Typhoid, Malaria, Dengue etc. What we can to have an easy access to drinking water? With increasing population the water resources are falling short day by day and the consumption of water per person is also not fulfilled. In Metro Cities the situation is much scaring. The Society structure of residences has been comfortable so far to get the basic amenities of water and other allied needs but the lower middle class and people living below poverty line are suffering the most. They can’t get even the drinking water as per requirement.

The evolution of packaged drinking water has been helpful in this regard up to some extent but People who are too much poor that they even can’t afford a bottle for drinking water. Government has spent too much in this area, in all metro cities, Jal Boards have been established for providing clean drinking water to the citizens. The scaring side is that water is being polluted by the industries at a bigger level, the energy industries, paint, textile, cement almost every industry is using the drinking water a bigger extent and the harmful chemical are flown freely in the rivers, ponds that makes the drinking water polluted. This needs to be checked at the earliest, also there are some other daily habits like bathing, cooking food, washing utensils, washing vehicles. All these activities must be done in limited extent. Govt. has launched so many schemes for saving water like save water save earth. Jal Shakti Mission to empower the water saving activities among people. Govt. has also some programs for watershed management, rooftop water management in which there will financial aids provided by the govt. if local resident took initiatives for saving the ground water and less usage of the water. There are some efforts for cleaning the water bodies like Namami Ganga for cleaning Holy Ganga River and Rejuvation of Yamuna. But the same is not enough, efforts are to be done by the individual also. The water resources must be used with appropriate care and steps may be taken in the direction of reusing the water, retaining the ground water level and other activities so that the water may be saved for the upcoming generations. The development of new techniques for water saving must be brought on the ground level so that the earth may be a livable planet for our future generations also. Save Water Save Earth!

Self Driving Trucks: Logistics on New Heights

In real life, consumers will not advocate as strongly for self driving trucks as the business owner with a multi million dollar profit opportunity. There will be concerns regarding consumer self driving trucks that will pressure regulators and slow the process. But business will spend the dollars to make it’s case and approvals will come. Trucks will have CDL personnel in the cab when self driving trucks operations begin and they will be restricted to limited access highways and small distances beyond the off ramp. A single 24 hour ‘driver monitor’ replaces two team drivers. Later the monitor is removed because over the road saFDV trucks will have ‘x’ billion miles of safe driving” Truck drivers will be terminally unemployed. There is no natural next job for this set of skills. And, yes, this is a problem. In the beginning, the shortage of employees and attrition will help balance the negative effects of the faSDV truck. The problem is that the transition period will be relatively...
