Corruption is an activity done by a public servant, a government employee and any civilian or any industry/organization in which the benefit is given to the wrong person by malicious intentions. Corruption has different forms and natures likewise bribery, influencing, embezzlement, lobbying etc. what is the exact cause of corruption; India is a vast country having unconventional geographical and demographic qualities, due to this variety the resources are spread unequally. India has a large population of around 140 crore spread over 28 states and 8 Union Territories. Being a democratic country each state has different govt, different policies and different rules and regulations. Due to variation in resources there are much chances of conflict between the beneficiaries. From where corruption starts? Corruption comes with the evolution of democratic government where to form a govt; the wishful candidate has to win the election from the concerned constituency. In this concern, each candidate uses unfair means to win the election. By using unfair means these candidates come into the power, after they are elected in the working Govt. these people try to provide benefit to their known people or the people who have monetize them in election for winning. Corruption has also its presence in Govt. offices for taking benefit with unfair means. In India situation is much more critical, people are illiterate and even for citizen facilities some corrupt officials take bribe from them and this has started a culture of this type of working. People who have personal relation with the politicians seeks other type of benefits like some higher posts in the govt. machinery or ineligible licensing of any industry or indulged in criminal activities like smuggling of drugs, weapons, human trafficking and women and girls trafficking. Corruption has spread so much in India that one has to seek approach or give bribe even for small to small work. India is not only the single country where corruption has ruined the faith of the public. Corruption has its existence all over the world, somewhere it is in small form somewhere in greater extent but the bad evil has affected the whole human. An international agency namely Transparency International that studies the impacts of corruption in various countries and then releases the index on the same.

Denmark stood first along with Newzeland & Finland in the list with least corruption, 2nd place and third are vacant , 4th place is given to Norway, Singapore, Sweden and Switzerland. Australia is at 18 while USA stands at 27th place. India has been given space at 85th position. There are too many agencies to curb and control the corruption. In India, there are Intelligence units which provide inputs for such incidents of illegal activities in the country and on border also. Human right commission and Right to information are some other equipment to make the citizen aware of their social and civilian rights. In Haryana Right to service and CM’s good governance associates are deputed in each district to facilitate citizens to seek help in case of any service is not provide to them. Also vigilance and anti corruption units have been set up in all the states of India. But yet the corruption is at a very high rate in India, due to corruption India is lagging behind in accordance with its growing economy. Also other unpleasant activities by neighbor countries and their efforts to breach the Indian democracy, such efforts are made regularly. Indian govt has several intelligence units like Raw, IB and other state agencies to find out the loopholes in the system. Even after so many efforts things are not at the line, people are made to starve instead of so many policies for wellness of the deprived ones. Reason behind all this is corruption. A big amount of Indian budget is reserved for infrastructure and rural development but even after 75 years of independence, people in Bihar, UP, Madhya Pradesh are living below Poverty line. Social welfare schemes like Nrega, MNREGA and PDS are the pillar schemes for adding the deprived ones to the mainstream. There are thousands of examples where Ration for the poor was sold out by illegal ways and corruption. There are several other examples of corruption like Fodder Scam, Coal Scam, 2G Spectrum Scam. In the recent years financial frauds due to corrupt mechanism like PNB Scam, Yes Bank Scam has been seen. What is the reason behind these scams, matter is clear, and the intentional working of the organization due to corruption has made the benefit to the wrong beneficiary. The tax payers pay tax for the development of their countries but that money is misused by the corrupt politicians and businessman and officers. This news is not a new one that so many Indian have their account in Swiss banks that doesn’t disclose the name of account holder. All these are results of corruption. Govt should take strict initiative to control the corruption. Only then he growth of the country can be dreamt.
